Discipleship Ministry
This part of our organization is based on the belief that mentoring is fundamental in helping people grow spiritually. Christianity is a community of faith, a faith that involves one another—a matter of walking together with other saints.
We believe in mentoring. In fact, Scripture commands mentoring, such as older women mentoring younger women (Titus 2:3-5). The Lord Jesus Himself is our best example of a life of mentoring. He chose His disciples and was with them so that He might send them out. Christ modeled mentoring for us (Mark 3:14).
In Matthew 28:18-20, the Lord Jesus commands His disciples to go and make disciples, and He said, "teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you..." Teaching people to observe God’s commands is done through the process of doing life with them. Verbal teaching alone is not enough; people learn better by seeing others do. The Lord Jesus said, "Follow me." A disciple is a learner. Christ calls people to follow Him so that they may learn from Him—not only from His words but from His character, His actions, and His way of life in general.
Discipleship is like this: as we follow the Lord Jesus Christ, imitating His lifestyle, we call others to come alongside and follow Him together, by the grace that He provides through the Holy Spirit, who empowers us (Matthew 28:18-20).
God calls us and sends us so that we may be fruitful and multiply. God wants us to know Him and make Him known to others. A believer in Christ is a sent one.
