Teaching/Learning Ministry

The name of this section of our organization is quite unusual: Teaching/Learning. So, let’s provide some context.

Picture this title as a garment with these words written on it, much like a name or job title displayed on a work uniform. Similarly, in this section, I put on my garment, and on the top right, you may read: Teaching/Learning.

The reason for this combination of words, Teaching/Learning, is that they naturally go together and cannot be separated if we seriously consider the matter.

Here’s how it works: What I am taught, I learn. Then, I teach what I have learned. As I teach, I continue to learn, and I pass on what I have learned, creating an ongoing cycle. Teaching comes from God and His Word; it also happens in the process of teaching others. Learning comes from God's teaching and can also occur while teaching others. It is a continuous cycle.

In general, the things we teach should be the things we have learned. For example, when God spoke to His prophets in the Old Testament, He instructed them to first internalize His word, allowing it to take root in them before delivering it to His people.

I assume that when I am taught, I learn, as expected. After learning, I am called to teach others, who will, in turn, learn and teach others. One aspect we often overlook is that as we teach, we continue to learn. In fact, teaching often opens unexpected doors, leading to further learning and more teaching. God may open our eyes to see and understand, and after learning, we are to teach. As we teach, we learn, and the cycle continues.

I hope this explanation makes sense and gives you a clear understanding of what this section will focus on: Teaching/Learning.
